The first Qualcomm Snapdragon X processors were introduced at an event organized by Microsoft. Many manufacturers from Microsoft to Samsung announced that they will use Snapdragon X in their laptops. On the other hand, Intel said that it will open the door to artificial intelligence computers with Lunar Lake. So when will Intel Lunar Lake be released?

Intel has shared new details about the Lunar Lake series that will power AI-powered laptops. This processor family, which will be the continuation of the Meteor Lake series, will compete directly with Snapdragon X in artificial intelligence.

The hardware giant said it will offer significant performance increases with Lunar Lake compared to Meteor Lake. The new cores, codenamed Lion Cove and Skymont, are said to offer better performance per watt. The Xe2 GPU is also said to be 1.5 times faster than previous generations.

The new "Copilot+ PCs" are optimized for AI experiences and powered by Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon computing platforms.

The company, which attaches great importance to artificial intelligence applications, says that the NPU and GPU units in Lunar Lake can perform 100 trillion operations per second (TOPS). Accordingly, Stable Diffusion claimed to be 1.4 times better than Snapdragon X Elite in image processing performance.

Qualcomm is currently partnering with several manufacturers to offer their first laptops, notably the Surface series. Intel shared that models powered by the Lunar Lake series will be released in the third quarter of 2024.

Lunar Lake will also support the Copilot+ PC platform. In this sense, it will be the first official artificial intelligence processor family between Intel and Microsoft.
